What is Netlify?

Netlify is one of the platforms that popularized modern web deployment: connect a Git repository, and every commit is built and shipped automatically, with a global CDN, serverless functions, deploy previews and form handling. It became a standard for front-end developers and Jamstack projects.

What earns it a place in an AI directory is the platform's recent turn toward agents: Netlify now offers to host and deploy apps generated by AI tools ('vibe coding'), and to run agents that build, test and publish code. The idea: go from prompt to a production site without leaving the ecosystem.

For a developer, Netlify remains first and foremost an excellent host/CI-CD, very easy to pick up and generous on the free tier. The AI layer is a plus, not the core — but it makes it a natural destination when you generate an app with an assistant and want to ship it cleanly.
